CHECKLIST WHEN SENDING IN YOUR ENTRY:

Please check that the following have been included with your entry form:

  • A self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of your duplicate entry form and /or exhibit tickets.
  • Admission tickets if you wish to pre-order (Adults $10, Conc. $5, Family 2 Adults and 3 Children $25) will also be included.
Additional Rules of Entry
  1. NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED
  2. Exhibits to be handed in to the Handcraft Pavilion no later than 12noon Saturday. Juddging will take place from 1pm Saturday. Exhibits can be collected between 4pm-5pm on Sunday. *NOTE: The handcraft Pavilion will close at 3.30pm on Sunday to allow for pack up and dismantling of exhibits.
  3. Accepted entries are subject to the rules and regulations for all sections, as well as these additional conditions;
  4. All works to have been completed within the last 12 months in VAS LTD sections.
  5. A person will not be permitted to win at more than one show within the State in any one show year (VAS LTD Sections).
  6. First prize winning exhibits iat previous Bellarine Shows are not eligible.
  7. An exhibit cannot be entered in more than one class.
  8. All work must be appropriately finished.
  9. All section tickets must be firmly attached by safety pins or sewn where possible. NO DRESSMAKING PINS PLEASE.
  10. Exhibitors must produce duplicate entry forms to collect their exhibits. These will be included with exhibits tickets.
  11. CLASSES A, B, C, D & E ARE ELIGIBLE FOR JUDGING WITH South Western Region (SWR) of VAS LTD 2017.
  12. JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL
  13. Winner must be prepared for exhibit to compete at South West Region competition, otherwise - second prize will then represent this society.
  14. Photographs taken of exhibits can and may be used for publicity purposes.
VAS Craft & Photography Rules & Regulations

  1. Each exhibit entered must be the bona fide work of the exhibitor.
  2. Professional Photographers are NOT eligible to enter (someone that derives the greater percentage of their income as a photographer).
  3. An exhibit having won at a show will compete at group final. The winning exhibit will then compete in the state final.
  4. An exhibitor may represent only one local show at Group level and one Group at state level.
  5. An Exhibit having won at State Final, is no longer eligible to compete in the competition.
  6. If for any reason a winner is unable to compete at a Group or State Final level then the second placegetter is eligible to compete.
  7. A person will not be permitted to win at more than one Show within the State in any one Show year. Persons not adhering to this rule will be required to forfeit/refund prize money.
  8. All work to have been completed in the last twelve (12) months prior to its entry at a local show day.
  9. An exhibit may only win one Group final in a show season (Spring to Autumn), should the same article be entered again and found to have already won a Group Final in the same show season the exhibitor must forfeit/refund any and all prizes and will be disqualified from exhibiting for 12 months.
  10. Late entries not accepted.

EMBROIDERY DEFINITIONS:

Needlework Tapestry (Canvas Work): Stitching covers the complete surface. Worked on Embroidery canvas - single or double thread or even-weave fabric; with cross stitch, half cross stitch, petit point stitch,embroidery any other canvas work stitch/s or combinations.

Petit Point: Petit Point is worked on fine canvas, linen or gauze with a count of not less than seven threads per centimetre. The background need not be stitched.

Counted Work: These embroideries are worked by counting the threads of fabric, such techniques include Assissi, Holbien, Blackwork, Drawn thread, cut and drawn, Hardanger etc.

Cross Stitch: Cross Stitch is a separate technique.

Surface Stitchery: Surface Stitchery refers to all embroideries worked freely across the surface of the fabric without the necessity of counting the threads.
